On December 16, 2015, Oasis Albuquerque received a surprise visit from an entourage of Blue Cross and Blue Shield employees bringing balloons and a very big check!

Oasis Albuquerque was the recipient of a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico Healthy Kids, Healthy Families grant in the amount of $50,000 to support new programs to be offered by Oasis beginning in the summer of 2016 – Fit and Free From Falls. These new offerings will focus on two priority areas from a menu of evidence-based health programs – increasing physical activity through effective, age-appropriate exercise programs and avoiding falls through fall risk awareness and reduction.

Oasis Executive Director Kathleen Raskob  commented, “This grant award is an incredible investment in the lives of older adults in the Albuquerque metro area. Thank you to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico for making this transformational grant to Oasis Albuquerque to help expand our health and wellness programs.”
