Albuquerque Oasis is proud to recognize Kathleen Raskob for her more than 9-years of service as Executive Director. Before retiring in 2024, Kathleen’s leadership was critical in expanding the center’s capacity, as well as during the pandemic wherein Oasis found new ways to meet the needs of participants.

Albuquerque Oasis Board of Directors President Lorna Wiggins remarked on Kathleen’s tenure saying; “Kathleen’s leadership during the pandemic was exceptional. Her ability to acknowledge the reality of how COVID was impacting Oasis while focusing on clear priorities ensured we emerged in a better place than many nonprofit organizations.”

Todd Griffin, a member of the Oasis Board of Directors and longtime volunteer, shared this insight: “Kathleen’s extensive community network allowed her to bring many outstanding speakers to the Oasis stage. More importantly, the essence of Kathleen’s personality, the characteristic that fueled her success at Oasis, is caring. She cared deeply, viscerally, for the organization, the staff, the volunteers, and the instructors and students who passed through the door every day. These were her friends, her family. Oasis was not a job that she set aside when she left the office, but rather a calling, demanding intense emotional investment. While this may have been both blessing and curse for her, it was always a blessing for those fortunate enough to inhabit her sphere.”

The Albuquerque Oasis Board of Directors, staff, participants, and the many facilitators, presenters, teachers, and instructors who are part of the larger Oasis community, extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Kathleen for all of her hard work, commitment, and dedication to setting the standard for lifelong adventure.
